Florent Vimes is a French engineer, passionate about mining, finance and mathematics. He is the founder and president of 'The Energy & Natural Resources Investment Group', working both with mining and oil & gas entrepreneurs and investors. The group has an exhaustive list of mining projects around the world and has built partnerships with local experts to select only the top investment opportunities. He offers independent advisory on mining investments, and his expertise in company valuations, projects' real option valuations and DCF financial modelling is appreciated worldwide.

His passion for mathematics gave him a taste for metals hedging and trading strategies. From Monaco's commodity funds to the London Metal Exchange, he has explored hedging from both the buying and selling sides, building a deep understanding of the dynamics of metals contracts.

 

All in all, his experience and network cover most of the metals value chain, from geology and mining engineering, and through project financing to metals trading.

Florent holds Masters of Science from the Ecole des Mines, and from the Royal School of Mines and from the Imperial College Business School. He has also been awarded by the Oldfield Robinson Fund for outstanding results on the MSc Metals and Energy Finance programme. He is fluent in French, English and Spanish.
